Usually yoga studios are full of peace and love. But this past January, Hilaria Thomas’ “Flow” class was full of broken glass and blood. Apparently the new Mrs. Alec Baldwin placed one of her students a little close to a window which led to a serious accident and a trip to the ER.
32-year-old literature student Spencer Wolf claims Hilaria put him in a position of “extreme danger” by making him do a handstand near a large window. While trying to attempt the move, he slipped, crashed through the glass and suffered severe injuries to his legs.
As the instructor, the blame falls solely on Thomas. The suit claims that she overbooked her class, leading students to position themselves in areas that were unsafe. She also allegedly didn’t pay close enough attention to Wolf and had been unaware of his balance issues until it was too late.
Outside of Spencer’s injuries, the broken window sent shards of glass into the streets of New York, endangering pedestrians. According to The Stir, people from outside actually ran into the studio to see what happened. Wolf’s fellow yoga students were also visibly upset and began yelling to Hilaria, “It’s your fault! It’s your fault!”
Thomas reportedly felt terrible about the accident and even rode with Spencer as he was rushed to a local hospital. But the damage had already be done, with the lawsuit alleging that Wolf may now be permanently disabled.
Ironically, this news comes at what should be a very joyous time for Hilaria. Just this month, she announced that she was expecting her first child with Baldwin.
“We're having a baby!,” Thomas told Extra last week. “It was a surprise, a wonderful surprise."
Perhaps with all of this commotion going on with her professional life, now may be an ideal time to start that early maternity leave.
Do you think Hilaria was negligent with her yoga students or is somebody trying to take advantage of her fame?
